Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens
can change the world; indeed it is the only thing that ever has.
Margaret Mead
How do I develop a Plan of Action?
- Brainstorm all the ways you can make a difference. THINK BIG! You can make your project into anything you can imagine. Make your personal project class-wide, school-wide, community -wide...or why not world-wide! Remember what Craig Kielburger did when he was just 12 years old.
- Be resourceful.
- Can you combine donation with awareness?
- Incorporate as many things as possible that you love to do in your project.
- Create a detailed plan of action using a Zoom strip.
- Once you have your plan in place, write a formal letter to Nobody explaining what you plan to do.
Here's just a few of the Nobody Action Plans that are happening in the
STRATFORD S.O.A.R. program.
- Nobody and many Grade 6 SOAR classmates had a wonderful time on Friday evening at the Concert for a Cure. The musical buffet was very entertaining and the host was amazing on the ivory keys! All his hard work and dedication raised $5,171.00 for leukemia research! Congratulations!
-
We also were honoured to have Mr. Tim Culliton and Connor speak to the Grade 5 class last week about the Crosby's Challenge. This challenge raised $425,000 for the Children's Hospital of South Western Ontario and demonstrated the generosity of our community.
-
Another member of SOAR has been volunteering at the Alzheimer's Society and would like members to participate in the "Walk for Memories" on Sunday, January 24th.
-
Nobody has also been busy shovelling driveways for the elderly, participating in a Food Drive for the House of Blessing, and visiting an animal shelter to look after the kittens.

NOBODY AQUABOX PROJECT
The AQUABOX which is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Stratford, is a sturdy, blue plastic box packed with water purification tablets and essential items for a disaster situation. Once the items are removed, each AQUABOX can be used to purify up to 1100 liters of polluted water, making it safe to drink.
The Interact Club of SCSS and the Stratford Rotary Club are very appreciative of your support of the AQUABOX project! Thanks to everyone's generosity, the SOAR program has filled 2 AQUABOXES and is onto the third one!! Great work team!
- Money for Mats has officially begun. Who will win the challenge?
